Project

The Qlini project is an artistic and crafting experiment where product and producer evolve together. The concept comes from the love for clay and the desire to experiment and learn how to work with it.

The idea is to share the creative process with others by crafting small, reproducible objects that can be used as a blank canvas to showcase the progress of the project.

As the designer's skills improve, the quality of the product improves as well, and so does the price.

This is, at the same time, a marketing experiment that explores the value of an art piece and how much someone is willing to pay for it.

Each series of Qlini will be sold at double the price of the previous one, starting with an intentionally low price of 10€ for the first series. As the series progresses, the craftsmanship will improve, with features such as glazing and more complex surfaces, allowing the price to increase.

The production will stop when people stop buying them and the pieces reach their highest value.

The chosen subject for this project is the Qlino, a ceramic creature shaped like a butt with two feet. The shape of a butt is ideal for the project as it has a wide, round surface and is a symbol of luck in Italian culture. Moreover, in such a historical period, this adds an extra meaning.
